Certification for IPMA® Consultants, Coaches and Trainers!
The International Project Management Association (IPMA®), as the leader in competency-based certification for project management, offers the IPMA 4-level Certification System (IPMA 4-L-C) for individuals managing projects, programmes and portfolios. In order to ensure the development of the competence of consultants, coaches and trainers in the field of project management, IPMA® has enhanced the IPMA 4-L-C System with a 3-level Certification for consultants and coaches and trainers working in the field of project management and contributing to the development of organisations and individuals.
Who is the IPMA® CCT certification for?
- independent Consultants, Coaches and Trainers in project management
- employees of training or consultancy companies offering project management services
- university lecturers, doctors, professors and people working with students – conducting seminars and workshops on project management
- consultants offering consultancy services to individuals and/or companies
By practising their consulting, coaching and coaching competencies, IPMA-certified individuals can strengthen and develop their clients’ organisations so that they can get better results and fulfil their mission and achieve their goals, at the level of managing individuals, projects, programmes, project portfolios or the organisation. As experts: they share their knowledge; they
provide coaching and consulting services; they deliver training and education programmes for
people working in projects and for project management organisations.
IPMA views the above roles as follows: a trainer is a person who shares knowledge, while a
consultant and coach provide advice to people in the area of project/programme/portfolio
management.
Therefore, IPMA, for the purposes of certification, has defined two roles:
- Consultant and Coach in the area of project management (CC)
- Project management trainer (T)
IPMA has developed a 3-tier certification system for Consultants and Coaches and Trainers (CCT):
For IPMA CCT certification, the following rules apply:
- The Consultant and Coach Certificate refers to consulting and coaching, advisory and
implementation activities in a project, programme or portfolio environment. - The Trainer Certificate refers to activities related to curriculum design, development and delivery
of training programmes in a project, programme or portfolio environment. - CCT certification confirms competence. Key competences and competences specific to
consultants and coaches and trainers are described in IPMA ICB4 and ICB4CCT. - At each of the three IPMA® CCT competency levels, qualification criteria, functional areas and
areas of responsibility have been specified for particular roles (IPMA-A CCT, IPMA-B CCT, IPMA-C CCT)
All certificates are valid for 5 years. After this time, you can apply for an extension of validity –
recertification, which involves verifying evidence of continued activity in the delivery of consulting and coaching or training in the area of project management, as well as ongoing professional development.
